It is sad, and cruel, and unfair but that's just fear and hunger for you. Which, in its own twisted way, is returning the empathy that the supposed mercenary had shown her. He was literally set up for a tragic ending and it's more bittersweet since the girl (as the god of funger) only finished him off out of mercy. And his backstory involves going into the dungeons to provide for his girlfriend and her unborn child (who might not even be his but he obviously doesn't care about that fact). And the peculiar doll was in his prison cell. Out of all four characters, I feel the lesson of "you shouldn't have delved too deep into the dungeons" fits him the most. I get people want Cahara to get a (somewhat) happy ending but unfortunately the man was just built for tragedy. He leaves to start his empire while leaving Nas'hrah to his fate to be found by O'saa later Le'Garde is in much better shape than Nas'hrah after facing the Traces Of GG due to both being revived and having sat on the throne. This is the only thing that makes some sort of sense since we know that Nas'hrah both gets burned and has a chat with Le'Garde about the throne. This is where Nas'hrah gets burned, and Le'Garde survives because of his new god status as well. Le'Garde finds Nas'hrah and they both go into the god of the depths as they likely sense a new old god has been born, or perhaps some other reason. Both endings to bringing Le'Garde to the throne have whoever does so escape the dungeon. Whether D'arce bends the knee here or not doesn't matter. Nas'hrah warns him about it, but Le'Garde does what he wants anyway. She finds the scroll pieces to revive him and does so. Nas'hrah urges her to explore the city as he wants a body. She explores the dungeon and finds Nas'hrah. He leaves and chooses to influence people through religion and writes the skin bibles later on.ĭ'arce shows up. He finds the throne, but he resists thanks to Valteil and Nosramus, but now knows much more about the gods. Enki finds the defeated Valteil and hears the truth about enlightenment. He befriends Nosramus and heads to the now cleared out city. He later finds Le'Gardes corpse, thinks to leave, but with Nosramus' urgings he finds the city. Cahara goes with the girl and ascends her.Įnki shows up. Ragnvaldr has cleared out all the evil and has their souls, so he leaves with his mission completed, probably with Moonless. He feels guilty leaving his preggo wife and sees a similarity with her and the god, so he agrees to take her. Cahara hears Nilvans request to take her daughter to the depths as they are getting all the souls. Ragnvaldr decides to gigachad the whole dungeon because its his duty. Ragnvaldr found him and left him there as he was already dead. Heres a short summary of how i think the timeline of the first game went, copying myself from another thread from some guy arguing with me about how Legardes C endings must be canon as well (they arent) Fear & Hunger is heavy on atmosphere and ruthless in its difficulty. There are roguelike elements to the game as well as a heavy foundation of a j-RPG. The game is a hybrid of survival horror and dungeon crawler genres with its influences ranging from Silent Hill to Nethack. The depths are in an eternal turmoil as both old and new gods struggle for power, it’s up to the players to choose their position and stance in all of this. The fortress works as an ancient nexus for different planes of existence. Four misfortuned adventurers dwell deeper and deeper to the darkness and uncover the secrets this ancient fortress holds inside.
